What do you find most fascinating / challenging about the water industry?
The water industry is very interesting and challenging due to the wide variety of characteristics of water sources in different parts of the state and country as a whole.  It’s always eye opening to have conversations with fellow Culligan dealers and other water professionals from different areas of the state and country about their water.  Due to the widely varying water characteristics, there is truly a need for professionals in our industry to determine the best solutions for each particular area where we treat water.

What is your hobby and why?
I spend a large amount of my time at work, but outside of work my primary focus is spending quality time with my wife and kids, and serving the Lord through my church, where I am treasurer and serve on multiple committees.  When I have time for hobbies I enjoy shooting my guns out on our property in the country, weight training, and attempting to play golf.

Have you had a mentor in the industry and what valuable lesson / catch phrase has that person passed to you?
My Dad is my mentor and I have been blessed to be able to learn from him and work with him for 20 years in our Culligan business.  He taught me to always treat our employees and customers with compassion, honesty, and integrity, even for those special employees and customers that make it very hard to do so.

Who would you like to have a drink with and chat? This person can be from history or current day.
When I was a kid, I would have said that I’d most like to chat with Ken Griffey Jr., my favorite baseball player of all time.  There is no doubt, though, that my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, would be the most impactful and meaningful individual to chat with, and I believe that I’ll stand before Him someday.
